The local LGBTQIA+ community came together to collect food for the Second Harvest Food Bank of NWPA. The drive was held at Central Outreach Erie, 3104 State St, Erie, PA, on Saturday, April 30. the group collected 781 pounds and $330 in cash. All food and cash will be used locally to help those in need. A group of volunteers put this event together from NWPA Pride Alliance, Erie Gay News, Greater Erie Alliance for Equality (GEAE), Transfamily of NWPA, Central Outreach Erie, and Compton's Table. This is the largest community-based food drive of the year for the food bank. If you missed the food drive, you can still donate by reaching out to the Second Harvest Food Bank. We will be holding a Give Back Drive in later summer - more info to come.
