Chris Temple is the Director of Communications for VisitErie and has been with the organization since 2001. Her main responsibilities include overseeing VisitErie.com, coordinating the annual Erie Adventure Guide, working with and hosting travel media bloggers and social media influencers, writing media releases and developing content to achieve effective media coverage for the area, fostering relationships with local and regional media, writing VisitErie's blog page, and other related projects.Â
Chris has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality tourism industry, beginning her career shortly after graduating from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's in Communications and Public Relations.Â
Professional affiliations include: board member of the Lake Erie Ale Trail, Coastal Zone Management & Greenways Program and the Pennsylvania Route 6 Tourism Alliance, advisory board member of NWPA Pride Alliance and the City of Erie Mayor's LGBTQ+ Advisory Council marketing committee. Chris is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Tourism Public Relations Alliance, North America Travel Journalist Association and is a past member of the Erie Downtown Partnership promotions committee, past board member of the Erie Playhouse, past board member of the Film Society of Northwestern PA, and past member of the Perry 200 Planning Commission.
